Animation

I have been following two very good animation accounts. One is arguably the best animation conglomerate in the world. The company in question is Disney, the other not as successful but still excellent animation source I follow is TheOddOnesOut. Both are vastly different animation styles.

Disney offers incredible animation made for the masses and created over the span of years. In Disney animations, so much animation is used. the characters and backgrounds move as well as the imaginary camera moves around the foreground creating motion from the first-person perspective. the movement in Disney films is very advanced. Disney is not currently making feature-length films in augmented or virtual reality but they do have a surplus of AR and VR games and other animations. The difference between their two AR and VR offerings is the world that they take place. AR happens in our reality where a viewing device imposes graphics into the real world, while Disney’s VR uses a viewing device to display a whole new reality. When watching Disney animations I can’t help but notice the fluidity, seamlessness, and attention to detail. Some animated pieces are so detailed that they almost look like real life. Disney owns Pixar and the Pixar films are simply life-like. the best example I could give of a recent animation I saw that was incredibly detailed is the current trailer for Lightyear, the new buzz lightyear feature film.

TheOddOnesOut (TOOO) has been discussed previously when talking about their use of bright colors, however, their animation style is where they stand out the most. They are a simple bubble cartoon animation with semi-plain backgrounds and themes. However, they keep the attention of a viewer by changing the scenes frequently. The animation style also takes on a sort of stop motion feel because the settings don’t change at 24 frames per second, instead a single frame will hold on the screen for about a second or two, and then the frame will change. this allows the animators to use a single frame to encompass a larger part of a story or action. TOOO does not offer any AR or VR and the emotions achieved while watching them are entertained and content, the animations have a very relaxing and humorous feel to them and that’s why I find them easy to watch and enjoy.
